Mobile
SEO for the Mobile platform becomes more and more important every year as mobile platforms make up a greater and greater percentage of Search Traffic. Responsive themes, ( WP themes that adjust to any platform) are critical to higher conversion rates. When choosing a theme for your WP site make ABSOLUTELY sure that the theme is RESPONSIVE.
Google Adwords has basically hijacked the search engine results for Chrome. Google seems to be placing all of the paid PPC ads at the top of their mobile search results currently. Because of the smaller real estate size (screen size) a person performing the search must scroll down further and further before seeing any organic search results at all. Many people (including myself) believe this practice is unfair and really minimalizes the effort and good faith that companies have worked hard for to get to the top of organic search results. I believe a much more fair mobile search algorithm wood stagger the paid and organic search results. ie (1 paid, 1 organic, 1 paid, 1 organic etc.) This would also provide the searcher with a much better user experience. Don’t hold your breath waiting for this to happen. hehe
This has really worked well for Google as their quarterly profits have well succeeded all expectations based on the increase in revenue from their mobile platform advertising. Businesses with formally productive organic results are almost forced to spend more on adwords just to maintain their market share. Maybe the regulatory committees should take a close look at this. This could very well be a conflict-of interest hot potato for Google.
